Email and Slack notifications

Choosing which emails you get, connecting Slack, and what each notification means.

Which emails will I get?

Open Settings, then Notifications. You can turn email on or off and choose when to hear from Stableship:

  • A release is held: a check found something that blocks shipping.
  • An approval is waiting: someone asked to ship anyway, lower a check or change a rule.
  • An audit finished: the report and fix plan are ready.
  • Daily summary: what was checked, held and fixed, when something happened.

With several apps, you can hear about all of them or only the ones you pick.

What do I get before I change anything?

Until you save your own choice, your role decides: owners and admins hear about everything, developers about held releases, approvers about approvals, and viewers nothing. Save once to make the choice yours.

How do I connect Slack?

Open Settings, then Connections, and connect Slack. Slack asks which channel to post in. Results, held releases and approvals post there, and approval messages carry buttons you can act on. See Slack.

I stopped getting emails for one app

A project can turn its email channel off in its policies. Ask an owner or admin to check the app's settings, then check your own notification settings.

Can I unsubscribe?

Non-essential emails carry an unsubscribe link. Emails the service depends on, such as hold alerts, continue while your account is active.
